When the Northeast Regional kicks off on May 25 in LaGrangeville, N.Y., it will mark the start of US Club Soccer’s cup-based national championship competition. By winning one of the seven National Cup XII Regionals or a qualifying state cup in the U-13 through U-17 age groups, teams will advance to the National Cup XII Finals, which will be held alongside the NPL Champions Cup from July 18-21 at Aurora Sports Park in suburban Denver. Chivas USA U-18s got goals from Caleb Calvert (25'), Armando Flores (72') and Mario Ortiz to defeat Real Salt Lake AZ 3-2. Jose Hernandez gave RSL the lead in the 21st minute, but the Baby Goats scored three unanswered goals. Benjamin Lopez closed out the scoring for RSL in the 90th minute.
