Galaxy season ticket sales top 12,000

The standard-bearers in attendance since the inception of MLS, the Galaxy has quite possibly the most attractive season-ticket package in the entire league.

Not only will fans have the chance to watch mega-star David Beckham as well as U.S. superstar Landon Donovan, season-ticket holders received word that they will get an unexpected bonus on Friday, which could spur more to follow suit with their own season-ticket purchases.

“The Galaxy have sold over 12,000 season tickets thus far this year and with Chelsea coming to play we expect to see that number increase rapidly,” Anschutz Entertainment Group executive Tim Leiweke said.

On Friday, the Galaxy announced a four-team tournament to be held on July 17 and July 21. The Galaxy will play Chelsea on July 21, and the game will be part of the season-ticket package.

The game could be Beckham’s first in a Galaxy uniform. Ranging in price from $380-880, season tickets to the Galaxy could continue to be a hot seller in the L.A. market and likely the most appealing package in MLS.
