Gavin equalizer ends Goats skid

Rookie Blair Gavin’s goal against the Philadelphia Union ended the Goats six game losing streak and has been selected the LA Soccer News Goal of the Week for the week ending July 4.

With Philadelphia up 1-0 in a goal by another rookie, Danny Mwanga, Chivas got the equalizer just before the half. The ball was headed out of the area by Union defender Cristian Arietta, landing right at the feet of Gavin, who slammed it into the net from 19 yards.
