Galindo leads Chivas in 5-0 romp over UCLA

CARSON, Calif. – Chivas USA used a second-half hat trick from forward Maykel Galindo to take a 5-0 win over UCLA in a preseason scrimmage on Field 6 at The Home Depot Center Wednesday. Michael Lahoud and trialist Mario Padilla also scored for Chivas.

Lahoud gave the home side the lead in the 23rd minute, finishing after a nice through ball from Sacha Kljestan. Padilla doubled the advantage just seconds before halftime, ripping a 20-yard shot into the top corner off a pass from Gerson Mayén.

Galindo led the way for Chivas in the second half, scoring the first of his three goals in the 54th minute, chipping the goalkeeper after a brilliant through ball from Salvadoran midfielder Osael Romero. In the 69th minute, the pair linked up again, with Romero playing another through ball to Galindo, who dribbled past the goalkeeper and shot for his second goal. With three minutes left in the match, Galindo scored a third, taking advantage of a defensive miscue.
