HITTING THE BEACH
Sand Soccer coming to Santa Monica

Between 150 and 200 teams are expected for the Copa Cabana Beach Soccer tournament at Santa Monica beach.
Soccer players will take over the sand of Santa Monica beach near the famous pier on June 13 and 14th. The event is open to youth, men’s, women’s, coed, and professional teams.

This is the third year Copa Cabana Beach Soccer has held an event at Santa Monica. It’s also the third event of the year, with the final at the Orleans Casino in Las Vegas from September 12-13.

The small field features 5v5 games, with team rosters of ten players each. Organizers expect up to 200 teams to compete in this year’s event. Registration for the event is open until June 8 at www.copacabanabeachsoccer.com.

Teams from all over the United States are expected for the event, with several coming up from Brazil to compete.

The two day event is open to the general public. Bleachers wil be set up along the beach, but of course, typical beach seating will also be available.
