U.S. coach Bob Bradley has named his Gold Cup roster for this summer.
LA-based players picked for the team include Landon Donovan. The Galaxy captain could pass Eric Wynalda for the all-time goals scored for the U.S. team in the competition.
Chivas USA contributes two players to the roster, defender Jonathan Bornstein and goalkeeper Brad Guzan. Guzan, like Donovan, received his first cap under previous Bruce Arena, but Bornstein earned his debut cap under Bradley against Denmark earlier this year.
Chris Albright was likely to make this roster, before his injury negated that possibility.
“We’re all very disappointed for Chris,” said Bradley. “We know that he’s facing surgery and we’ll have more information after the surgery is complete. We absolutely wish him a quick and speedy recovery.”
